His loss
When it rains out pours
No more can we ignore
The intrusion
The pollution
The dying and disease
Time to be free
To find out the real meaning
Keep your head up
They say and don't look back
But why when history repeats itself
And always seems to have a bad rap
If we learn from mistakes and grow from disaster
Why can't we learn to just ask what's the matter
In a culture of hook ups, abortions and babies
Is the thought of something real so incredibly crazy
How can we learn to get what we had when we all just focus on the things that make us glad
To aspire to be better and to do something different we must learn to listen to give and stop missing
Missing what's around and off to the side so engulfed in what we see right in front of our eyes
A small dark screen with colors and noise
A distraction from the world a really expensive toy
Girls with no respect from themselves or others
It really makes you wonder what's happening with our mothers
What happened to the fathers to hold their kids tight
And that boy who grew up to be a shining knight
The modern family is so incomplete, it's sad that we don't realize and then we see it in the streets
People dying, people crying, life flashing before our eyes
But nothing seems to matter if its not happening with the elite
What clothes to wear and what shoes to buy, the followers, the friends and your number of likes
What happened to the days of playing in the streets, making friends on the playground and growing up like beings
It's time we come together and glance at the condition
Cause frankly it's scary that we seem to lack ambition
To be the change we want to see we have to look up
Look up to those who lead and listen to them closely
The brightest one isn't always the loudest
Watch people's actions, not just their words and be an individual stop following the herd
